buddie of mine is hunting his GSP's around Larned, he finds ticks on his dogs everyday........

Appreciate your post, duckn66; it reminded me to apply the monthly dose of flea/tick/heartworm medicine to my dog's skin.

BTW, twice in the last week I've found mosquitoes flying around in my truck cab. Unbelievable for December. Makes me wonder what sort of bug surprises the months of January and February have in store.

I believe they have there for eons. The Missouri Wildlife books have then in SW Missouri back in the fifties. I was there a lot, never saw one, go there now it's an emidemic! If you cross a mowed hayfield at night they a everywhere killed on the pavement, I counted 44 in a around a mile. What ever the weather is currently is beneficial. I will add to the pest in December episode, I came home with chiggers, or brome bugs, ( basically a chigger), from bird hunting this week. chiggers, ticks, armadillos, next cockroaches a foot long, living in Kudzu!
