Meet "rd" short for regular dog.
At 8 weeks. And really!! she is doing all the regular dog stuff.:cool::)

After losing our 14 year old dog last Fall, we finally decided to get another. Here he is at 9 weeks. Don't laugh. His predecessor was a mighty fine retriever, and his great grandmother entered the first year Poodles were allowed to compete in Field Trials where she took a national first. He's off to get his first gunning experience tomorrow.

I forgot to mention:confused: rd is female.
She has grown quite a bit since the pic, I'll update.
So far I've walked her in the tall grass and getting her used to gun shots.
Starting with the 22. She sees the excitement in her best big buddy [Cooper in my avatar] and I've shot the 12 gauge with her near and no problems.
As far as training her on pheasants, I think Cooper will do the training.
I'm looking forward to getting her on birds.
