Hunting a row of trees alone is difficult!If there is wind,you may have a chance.Dont take your sling off. I use my old 870 turkey gun for pheasants at times, and it has a sling. It's great for long walks.Im not a guy who is real strict with my dog.I am using my e collar more lately . When these cattails sloughs are snowed in and the snow is crunchy, it makes it very difficult.
