The Death Ray--too hot for this fella!

I knew we couldn't possibly be lucky enough to go an entire summer without seeing the ole' mercury break the century mark for a week:mad: We had it good for awhile, probably too good. I can't stand it when it gets this hot and humid; no way I could ever live in the south.

They call ppl from up north snowbirds when they leave their home state for warmer climates in the winter. When I'm retired and/or loaded, I'm leaving Kansas for the weeks like this one:mad: Guess that'll make me a sun-bird, flying far and fast away from the Death Ray:eek:

I am right with you KB...I say we go to Alaska and hunt Ptarmigan where it is cool.

I am no fan at all of summer. Too bad I landscape as a PT job to pay for the hunting:eek:

Got sweat on my neck now and I am in the AC at work! Walked the dog this am from 7 - 7:30 and came home with sweat dripping off my head. I hate walking outside first thing in morning, still dark, to let the dog out and the air is warm, heavy and kind of smelly; no freshness to it.

Feel bad for you guy's and your dogs!!! Not rubbing it in or anything, but we have not had it bad here at all. No tripple digits and for that matter hardly any mid 90's. 64 right now and forecast calls for 70's and low 80's for a week. Might chase the dove out if it keeps raining and lows start to get in the upper 40's and low 50's. I don't know how you guy's do it out there!

a friend just got his first bird dog and we have been walking our dogs around 5:30 in the morning for 30-45 minuted a before he goes home to get ready for work. Some mornings I wear a long sleeve T shirt and there has been a day I wish I had put a shirt over the T

I see a lot of Kansas plates up here, but only in the Summer.
We are humid but the high yesterday was 76 today is 73. We hit 90 I think trice this Summer.

yeah give me spring fall and winter summer does nothing for me but give sunburn... we may have only had a few 90 days in mn but we had a higher dew point then the amazon jungle a few times this summer mn=humid weather hate it dry heat down south is somewhat better u guys in the se us have it bad i feel for you...

Been over 100 more than a few times recently. The worst was a few weeks ago, when it was 98 with a dewpoint of 78, that was miserable.

Whew. 104 here yesterday.

Hey KB, I am "in the South" and man, we hit 90 2X this year:D
Living in the mountains of the south sure makes a difference;)
Of course no pheasants here to be had....which just makes our trips to KS that much better:cheers:
