Awesome dog pics the shorthairs are really intense one thing though that i cant stand and just drives me nuts is a dog on point with his mouth and tongue open and hanging out just cant deal with it i will give them away before i keep that junk
Nice Setters. They really are beautiful dogs on point. Here's a picture of my sons setter. She epitomizes the setter grace and elegance they're known for.
Here's my GWP Heidi with a very regal up headed point.
Now back to some GWP's with intensity to spare...
Heck while we're at it, lets see some more of you guy's dogs on point. Keep em comin!
Amen! Sounds like my Hank & since Bourbonnais have NO tail, "clock position" is a moot point. Hank finds 'em, points 'em rock-solid, and retrieves 'em . . . I'm good with that (and this one was on a wild Rooster at 5-months).
Thanks, Tex! These are a French breed. Hank came from ElkRun Kennels in Idaho. The breed is all heart, no undercoat, very little shedding, quick learners & easy to train (requires very gentle training methods). Hank is completely devoted to me & goes everywhere within reason with me. He is also a perfect gentleman in the house. I couldn't possibly be more pleased than I am with this hunting partner. Hank has just a nubbin; when I come home from work, since he's sans tail he wags the dickens out of his butt. At 44#, he is extremely agile & athletic and goes thru dense cover like a snake.
That he is, Tex. From a preserve hunt yesterday . . . bought 4 but Hank found a few extras (season ended here, but we're not ready to quit) . . . these are great birds . . . the runners gave Hank lots of practice at refining his sneaky-Rooster holding technique . . .
