State Park Cabin

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with renting cabins in any of the state parks throughout Kansas. I called and it sounds pretty good except they do no allow dogs in the cabins. This would be my first trip with my own dog but in the past with other peoples dogs we would bring them into the hotel. Do you know what people do with their dogs while renting these cabins?
Thanks
Nick

Not sure about everyone else, but when we go out on big trips the dogs sleep either in the dog trailer or the dog boxes that they came in. Put locks on the doors, usually they are so tired they could care less where they sleep. Get up once after the hunt and let them stretch and make sure they have food and water, then let them out first thing in the morning to "air" out a bit. Should be good to go. Been doing it that way for years.

Yes , I have stayed in cabins at two different KDWP parks. You must take your own sleeping supplies (covers and pillow). Good experience though. Good place to cook your own food. Dogs stayed in kennels on porch. Both of them were quite a piece from any towns with restaurants grocery stores etc...

The websites usually stipulate dog policy and if a kennel is available. A quick call to the attending office can answer any questions.

I will be interested in your experience with these cabins as I'm looking into these cabins for our trip out west next year.

The websites can be accessed at the KDWPT website: ksoutdoors.com . Reservations are done at reserveamerica.com .

cabins are warm, dry and pretty well equipped. take towels and bedding. My dogs stay in the dog box, warm and out of the wind. like Jubilee says, if you are hunting them they won't care.
