Very nice looking pup for a GSP. I wish lot of luck with her and an excellent hunting season. She will be to young for this year, but next year...look out birds...........Bob

Can we get some side bets on how long the tail feathers last on the stuffed bird?
Good looking pup!

Looks like she needs a little work on her delivery....

Congrats though, good lookin' pup.

i do have a video of her bringing me the stuff pheasant back to me when i throw it... but yah, she'll need to know who to bring it too bc she sometimes run to my wife when she goes after it.

oh definately too young, but i will be taking her with me after i get started on cap guns and 22s to shotguns.. i want her to smell, hear and other noises so when next year, its not a fright for her. she'll be close to 4 months when she goes with me...

I am, you have the link or something i can click on? otherwise we could PM each other and get on FB.. i think theres a FB thread on here.. or i may be thinking of another forum that was discussed about FB addresses for who wants to add.

good idea though!! i will do that.

i dont know how to get the link on here, check on wes / or any other freinds that got one of there pups, or look for wayne morgan in geary,ok

okay... first concern, when out watering the garden, Sophia loves jumping in the water, playing in the water... but she still shows hunting skills... i didnt think GSP were water dogs.... however i thought she really likes water, would she be a dock dog?

Don't worry about it, a lot of GSP's love water. Heck I had one that would swim out and retrieve ducks. Remember GPS's are in the Versitile Dog catagory........Bob

yah i understand that they are a versitile dog.. but not often you see them for waterfowl hunting due to shorthair... unually you have brits, labs or any long hair dogs do it... sophia wont go in water when the cold wind/night time kicks in... so i know she wont jump in the water when it gets cold out...

just not common for GSP to be a duck dog as well... Brits have the advantage, they can be pheasant dogs, duck dogs, goose dogs and any other weather condition sports... GSP can be limited. or am i wrong?

Why do you think they make Neoprene Water Vests for? They are to keep the dog warm. I have seen several GSP do duck work..............Bob

sounds like im irrating you...

i know they have those for dogs... my point was... how often do you see GSP a waterfowl dog? I rarely see it as much as LABS or Brittanys are more common... due to longer hair.

No, I was answering your question. I have not duck hunted in many a moon. So things could have changed. 30-40 years ago in Minnesota, I have used and seen a lot of GSP's being used for both upland and ducks. I had one GSP going upland on a cold frosty mornings, he would break ice and go for a swim just for the fun of it.......Bob
