Funny vid. I am guessing the first dog is young and not experienced in water retrieval. Stoney Kennels has a video how to introduce ones dog to water retrieval. Even a pheasant hunter just might shoot a pheasant over water so its better that his or her hunting dog can do a water retrieval then not.

I have had a few roosters retrieved from creeks and rivers. Dogs gotta do and know what to do in those situations.

With Roxy and Skye they both just jumped right in the water the first time they saw it, didn't need a "water introduction," heck, it's tough to keep them on dry land. They're not very versatile though.
