No, I'm not trying to play a joke on you guys but if you are out pheasant hunting the refuges and your dogs aren't getting much bird work think about walking some marsh edges. I've taken a few snipe over the years but I might just walk a few more edges this season. Just listen for that distinctive "creeeek" call when they flush. It was always funny to me after going thru & putting others thru the typical "snipe hunting" rite of passage, that there actually is a for-real snipe with bag limits & hunting season!
I have bagged a few of the TRICKY, erratic/aerobatic little targets over the years while already in the marsh waterfowling, but never actually set out on a targeted hunt to bag a limit...

May not ever now that I'm a lot older, since I no longer enjoy mucking around quite as much as I used to & prefer dryland birds at bankers hours! ;)
