I don't hunt west river so have never been concerned much about rattlesnakes. But the middle of November I'll be hunting west of Kennebec. Not sure if snakes are in issue in that area but won't they be better much holed up by then?
 
I have hunted west river for many years. I have never seen a snake in Nov. I have seen a couple when I would hunt the opener if warm. As cool as it usually is in Nov I wouldn't worry about it.
 
Rattlesnake

I killed a prarie rattlesnake ten days ago on one of my farms in Lyman County near Presho/Kennebec. He kinda surprised me and he is in snake heaven now. I live by the old saying, "where there is one there is more and if one is out more surely are around." I'm going to be very careful until below freezing temperatures arrive that persist for several days and will feel much better with snow on the ground. I would be very careful until the weather changes.
