Slabs Ahoy!

Recent trip to Flag Island Resort at the Northwest Angle of Lake of the Woods Minnesota produced some nice slab crappies. My buddy and I got this limit in a couple hours. Equally good walleye fishing too!

Equipment: Polaris 600 snowmobile, Big Buddy Heater, Clam Yukon Fish House and Vexilar FL-18's

The ride out to the crappie hole was 17 miles one way and that day the temp hit -24F

13.5" was biggest crappie. 21" biggest eye

Very nice Chris.:10sign: I love crappie fishing. My best last year was a 17" black crappie. We caught tons of 13-15" class slabs last year. We used to be die hard bass fishermen but now we spend more time chasing slabs. Here is my brother with a 13" black.

Quailhound, that Blackie is sweet! I've only run into white's up here. They say they get as big as 18" up here but biggest I have cuaght is 15.5"

Very nice. Your hard work paid off with a tasty reward. I think one reason people don't get out and enjoy the outdoors is because it takes a lot of sweat and time for it to pay off. I think I can see the curvature of the earth behind you in the crappie photo.
