Check this out.A gentleman I know, works for one of the local Hunting Lodge, and has for the last 15 years. Last week while driving past a recently cut wheat field, he saw a hen, standing in the ditch, Now, seeing a few birds around the Lodge is not uncommon, but they mostly run away. She didn't want to leave. Then, just yesterday I saw him again, and he said that she was in the road this time, and had 4 chicks with her. First time that anyone at this lodge had ever saw a pheasant hatch that was in the wild. Hopefully, they will survive the predators this summer.

Awesome! Always good to see the birds raising a brood.
Good thing that "Doves" isn't still alive or he would be after them too. A few older guys from the Frontenac area will know what I am talking about.
Hope the quail are doing better in SEK.
