Season wrap up

Youngest of my 3 kids finished 4th inpatient alcohol rehab last year, did sober house after…seems ok…buried both parents recently, had been in facilities for past several years, very taxing. Will take next challenge when it comes. First grandkid due in July. Life grinds on…
Unfortunately for families they will get clean when they are ready and not before. No amount of prayer, enticement, threats or money will make it happen. They have to get tired of their life and want something better. It’s hard to go through when it’s a family member.

May 16 will be 32 years for me. I’m a founding board member for a recovery organization. It takes a miracle but miracles happen every day.
Congrats that’s great. I spent 15 years working with inmates in Lansing and Leavenworth on their substance abuse issues prior to Covid. I saw many men absolutely change their lives and become responsible and productive members of society with many years clean. Some have started businesses, reconciled with their families, and become good men. A couple in particular I am still friends with. They had about fifty felony convictions between them and had spent more time in than out. They now own homes and work with others that were like them. I was on that path to until someone took interest in me at as a young man.
