Well, season begins for me this weekend!!! Weather is going to cooperate and I will be out every weekend except the 15-16th due to Christmas Party obligations!! Tough to wait this long but it is what I do and am successful doing so! Birthday week has always treated me well!! Don't even ask !!!!! Will be hitting some Colo. spots this weekend and then who knows!! Neb or Kansas are on the list and Neb. seems to hold a few more this year!! Pic's when I get back!!! Fruitful or not!!!

Good luck Bleu. Can't wait for reports and pics of your travels.

Good luck. Trying to get out Sunday morning if I can evade some obligations:)

If not, I am taking time off over the next 3 weeks.....period.

Enjoy your hunt Bleu! The weather sounds like it's going to cooperate beautifully!! :10sign:

I have to work Saturday, but I'll be after'em on Sunday for sure! My setter is anxious to get back out. Stitches are out and he's all healed up!!

Chad,
Good luck....Colton and I have not made it out anywhere in Colorado yet. We went to South Dakota (Platte area) and shot one bird. All that way and money....shot more roosters in Colorado than SD, who can say that:eek:

Anyhow, might try to get out to KS on MLK weekend. AGain, good luck,

Greg

Saw a few!!!! Birds are Roadrunners when the cover is so sparse! Plus, this isn't their first Rodeo!!! Cold and wind greeted us Sunday Morning! 12 degrees with a 25mph wind gusting to 40!! Found some good roosting spots the day before and figured if I got to them early they still might be there sitting!!! 1 rooster fell for the early A.M. sneak ,as Chief Stopped dead and his head went right. Rooster blew from my right ,to right in front of me and one quick shot with the 28 and it was over!!! My buddy and my cousin each got to fire their guns twice in different fields at different birds, but not easy shots to say the least with the Wind !!! Windchill was below zero as well and all my gallons of water were rock hard in an hour!!! 1 guy could work the field if he had 25 blockers!! Birds were so far out you had trouble even guessing hen or rooster! Most I saw in 1 field was 6 !!! Work the wind, Quiet and birds were moving before the truck probably stopped and the engine turned off!!! No Snow!!! 4 drops of rain I think, unless I spit on myself again!!!!

I was wondering what's been happening out there. I'm busy remodeling my house and haven't been out since the monday after the opener. Your report has me thinking I picked the right year to limit my hunting.

P.S. Happy Birthday!

Question? Chad, why are you remodeling a newer home during bird season??? Just a guess!!! Second, I will get some birds!!! I refuse to let anything from China outsmart me!!!!!!!LOL!!!!:eek::cheers: Saw 8 chickens, not saying where!! But my reports are only half information!!! Woodchuck has been slaying them!!! Life long buddy since Middle School and he doesn't post often!!! Tight to the vest I guess!! Worse then me!!! One of those guy's that is a great addition to any hunt trip!! Not giving up on the season yet!!! It is tough!!! Like the challenge!!!! Get off the Honeydoooooo list and go bird hunting!!!!! It will be there when you get back!!!!!

LOL!! We've been talking about remodeling for a while now and I finally decided to pull the trigger. If I didn't get started now, I never would have. No additions to the family that I'm aware of; not yet anyway. :D

I've also spent some time deer hunting and fly fishing the last few weeks, so I haven't been completely out of comission. I shot a decent mule deer and will post pics when I get a chance.

I hear you about the half truths and the challenge of outsmarting those ditch chickens. I keep waiting for some snow, but am realizing I better just get out there, or I may wait forever.

We'll have to hook up one of these days. Would love to chase birds or just grab a beer with you.
