Season Closing Hunt . . .

. . . ends on a high note!

Three fields hunted, excellent bird numbers seen, and our two man limit bagged.

This was the best season I've had in 5 or 6 years. I plan to check my records later today and post full numbers.

Between two guys, we shot 103 roosters, a handful of quail, and the lone rabbit I took earlier this week. It's our success rate and the number of birds seen each trip that is most exciting, and leads me to be REALLY optimistic, weather permitting, for next year.

I got out the last day as well.

It was tough going with the snow, but I had a nice piece of public land all to myself the last day! Thanks to my 5700 lb. Tahoe, I was able to bust some drifts that evidently, other people weren't willing to try, to get to my spot.
