Can you hear the Chariots of Fire music as Webguy and I head out once again to the wildwest to slay pheasant and play in the mud on yet again another promising South Dakota Pheasant Season.

John, we could use some more classic clips, movie quotes and such to set the appropriate tone for the event. See what you can whip up.:thumbsup:

Webguy, don't sell yourself short on the amount of Coors Light that will be required. :10sign:

Seems that Webguy(2nd from right) and UGuide(smelling his finger that was somewhere) can't get their hunting party to find the right shade of blaze orage for the opener this year.....

Webguy(green pants) posing with his college roomies. These are the same guys tromping through SD this weekend with guns? Lavar has been known to knock down roosters from 40 yards with his patented wrist action Javelin toss.
 
Considering the conditions last weekend, blaze orange water vests are not that far off! Our group of three were soaked from head to toe while hunting in the White Lake area last weekend. We did get our birds through it all.:D

We still cannot decide if last Sunday was "The Best Miserable Day of Hunting" or the "The Miserable'st Best Day of Hunting"!!:confused:
 
WOW!!! I just drove from Mpls to Charles Mix county SD. Rain rain rain the whole way. Just letting up now and the wind is howling out of the NW. Every field on the way had standing water. These are extreme conditions just like the year of the heat when all the dogs died.

ATV's might be the last minute ticket for getting around in fields.

Good news is that it is supposed to warm a little and be sunny and windy for next 2 days. Praise the Lord!

I did see a few rooster groups and they seem to be extremely colorful for this time of year.
