NO MORE Red Labels Kinda sad IMO, I don't like to see any gun go by the wayside

That is sad. Good thing I filled that niche in my collection . . . 28, 20, 12.

That's Business

I guess that weren't making enough money on them. While I have seen pictiures, I never did see a Gold Label shotgun in a shop. So, I don't think they ever really made many of them.

Lock and Load! :D

There is a $10,000 Gold Label at Cabela's in Mitchell. It's some kind of custom gun, one of a kind I would guess.Couls be in there Gun Library website.
I have seen two others. The last regular one I saw was $3,000 about a year ago.

I have a Gold Label. It's a pistol grip model and it ain't for sale. :p

I've used mine for pheasants, skeet, and sporting clays and it's never missed a beat. Some years ago I was quite taken by SxS shotguns and tried a bunch of them over about a 15 year period. This Ruger Gold Label is the only one I've had that I can shoot consistently well. I suppose it just fits me better than the rest.

Ruger made solid, plain, reliable and, on average, heavy scatterguns...most companies make the same.
The customer base for a hunting gun is small, especially for double.
A little surprised it took Ruger so long.
What has saved the day for some is that many of us buy more than we need and like the latest and greatest.
Ruger knows where both the bread and butter sit today.

The Red Label had been known for having troubles. Thank God Ruger stood behind them. CZ put them out of business. They made guns of similar quality for $100's less. The simple fact is, the Red Label's were over priced for what they were. Also, handgun's and assault weapons sales are at record level's. Ruger is putting all the resources into those fields.
