Retiring a bird vest

So what is the proper way to retire a bird vest? Mine has finally given up the ghost. Do I just throw it away? Burn it? Bury it my favorite hunting grounds?

Burying seems like to much work, plus the ground is frozen. Throwing it in the trash can seems so modern and unromantic. I think fire is primal, like hunting, just remember to double check for all the shells before you throw it in the fireplace.

Threw mine in the dog box...after a few shreds from the TAZmeister, it has become his cozy sleeping buddy.

Like tmrichardson, my vest was buried with my Britt Maggie. It just felt like the right thing to do.

Mine will either go in the dog box of my eldest dog or be buried w/ her. Depending upon the sequence of events. Here's to hoping the vest's life ends before my beloved Joules' life ends:cheers:
