Remote bird Launcher

New pup this year. First time using launchers. I have two of the DT launchers. Work great and yes it does help with training. I also started using homing pigeons. They're second to none as far as birds go. Launch a few birds in a session and they're back inside the loft shortly.

Launchers and pigeons are great for pointing breeds, allows you to train solo and prevent catching birds… I’ve thrown a few quail and they tumble like a bean bag, makes a bigger problem. I have 4 dt launchers

We bought some quail a few weeks ago and it was cartoonish. One popped up in the air and fell straight back down. Almost worthless. Pigeons are great because they're up and away and fly high and strong. Can't believe in all my years of messing with pointing dogs I have just now started using pigeons.

I hear ya
Pigeons are great for any breed, durable, easy to keep, inexpensive, and can really fly. If I ever buy another chucker someone please kick me.

With zest
I used. Manual step on launcher started with quail they didn’t fly well just wanted to hide in pasture
Then got some pigeons oh yeah then he got into it big time carded the birds they could fly 20-30 feet have to come down take off again
One bird he returned to me 3 times soft mouth never hurt it gave bird week off took it out again next week repeat over 3 weeks

Have 3 DT launchers and 4 foot traps. Each has it's place. Had the same experience with quail. Too many times my pup was able to catch the quail, fairly counterproductive considering using a launcher is supposed to get the bird flying without chance of your dog catching it.

I just picked up 3 DT remote launchers yesterday for a trainer friend. Being sold used for $200 and outside of some dust, are in pretty good shape. Used launchers in good shape sell quickly.

Yes I am out of bird hunting territory, so used ones are non-existent. Looks like I will have buy new.
