Recovery Powder

As a last minute purchase, before my annual SD pheasant hunting trip, I bought a bottle of the Alpha Dog Resurgence powder for Whisky. I used it a couple of days before the trip and every day during the trip. I sprinkled it on his food, that I also added water to as well. I can't say for 100% it helped, but I feel like he was in better condition each morning. I will continue to use it for the next few days as part of his overall recovery process.

I just bought some last week for our upcoming trip. My dogs didn't like glycocharge and I thought it was worth a try. I haven't used their products before but we'll see.

I pour his kibble into the bowl, add a bit of water, mix it around, sprinkle one scoop of the powder, mix it around and then serve. He eats it right up.

Also at home I put an inch of water in the laundry sink with epson and do a soak at end of rough day for grass burns, cuts and hot spots from dog boots.
That seems like a good idea. I may try that this evening in the bath tub to help sooth his feet after three hard days afield.

My Vizsla has soft feet and I use the epsom salt soak too. He doesn't like it at all but it definitely helps his pads heal up.
I kept Mushers Secret on them, but he would tend to lick it off, thus reducing the effectiveness of the treatment.

A high quality food and water are all that is needed. I take care of my dogs all year so they are ready for hunting season. All the supplements are a waste of time and money. Do yourselves a favor and start feeding Unukshuk

I wouldn't go so far as to say all the supplements are a waste of time and money.
Our sporting dogs are athletes, and while diet, exercise, and conditioning play a important roll in maintaining our "athletes" health, just as important can be supplements during various times.....just like for human athletes. Genetics and breed types play a roll as well.
Do what works for you and your dogs. My dog, doing upland and waterfowl, has taken a beating through the years.....I have seen how the muscle and joint supplements he is on as well as the liquid supplement I have used has improved his health and maximized his downtime/recovery time. I don't rely on it solely, as he gets fed good food, regular exercise and conditioning. But, probably none of us train our dogs year round in simulated hunting conditions for 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours on a daily or weekly basis.
Just my 2$ and my experiences with my dog, specifically Kinetic Hydro30K for his water on hunts.

I tried Inukshuk and liked it. I was getting the 30/25 for $50 a bag but my Vizsla got to the point that he couldn't choke it down, lost a lot of weight training for hunt tests and I finally gave in and switched his food. It was a much better deal than PPP or the Nutrisource I'm feeding now.

What food do you use?

I feed a grain free salmon and sweet potato food.
I've tried a few of the other brands thru the years, but my dog does very well on this food for his gastrointestinal system, which wasn't the case with others.
At 9 now, and in the conditioning he is in, my vet won't even switch him to a Senior food yet, as his metrics are no where near "senior".
So, for me and my dog, what I am doing works.
