Rain?

We've been getting quite a bit of rain here in NW Arkansas and it seems a lot of the storms are sweeping across Kansas before they get here, so hopefully ya'll in Kansas are getting rain this spring.

We are getting some rain. Many parts of the state are ahead of normal for the year. However, remember two things. First, we were ahead last year at this time too. The rain just stopped in late April-early May. Second, all the talking heads say that we are still a long, long way from replenishing subsoil moisture or generating sufficient run-off to refill the reservoirs.

It looks good so far, but theres plenty of time for things to wrong before or during nesting season. We need more rain and cool temperatures to delay the wheat harvest. But, we still want a great harvest for our producer friends.

I live in east central Kansas, and I need the rain to stop so I can plant corn. Its usually up this time of year, and their is hardly any planted. What is planted is just laying there rotting.
