Quail sightings

Im from north east Arkansas and have heard/seen more quail this spring than any other year. This surprised me due to the very rough winter we had. Not sure if this was a fluke or if others have noticed the same. I would be too scared to hunt these birds due to decimating the few coveys that I've seen but they would be good work for running dogs to keep them ready for an out of state trip.

Arkie quail

We have 4 or 5 coveys that we know where they are and also are scared to shoot them. Mostly now just woodcock hunt in Arkansas, even at that my success is limited.

I've heard two or three males whistling every morning when I run my brit here in northwest AR

I did flush one once on a course, but I usually hear them around the lakes while fishing.
