No surprise there but they are still out there. No big covies yet but the family groups are ranging from 10-15 birds and we shot about half and half young of year/ mature birds. We hunted until 11:30 and moved 5 family groups before the heat stopped us. Here are the bird dogs with their take of 8 birds.:thumbsup:

My brother and I went back out again today, same area, different covies. We both shot 3 quail each and decided to let the dogs swim and call it a day. When we got to the swimming/ fishing hole there was a man and wife with their truck stuck down by the waters edge so I did my good deed and hooked up my tow strap and pulled them out. They were very grateful and explained how they had been there all night.:eek: Don't drive your 2wd truck down in the sand folks.:cheers:

Thanks guys. Wayne, they sure do. AC all summer and hunting all fall and winter, how could a dog complain about that.:thumbsup:

I forgot to mention that about 20 sand hill cranes arrived at the river overnight and were out in the bordering alf alfa field this morning.:cheers:
