From what I understand, people call these guys "Quail on Steroids".
We usually call them "Huns".:)

Rob, I love those quail shots!! They truly are something to look at though, I am a bit partial to those old, wild Ringneck pheasants:D:D:D

Love the pics of those big quail.:thumbsup: Hopefully I see a covey in MT this year.
 
I can hardly wait, after taking an entire year off I am prepping for upland season!! Best of luck to everyone and be safe.
 
I got a few pics of a small covey of valley quail while waiting for pheasant shooting hours to start.
