This am I saw 10 to12, chicks following moma, shoot across the road, in front of my truck, bring up the rear was pop. Seem a bit early, but I'll take it.
I talked to Game and Fish Biologist O'dell, this am and he stated he first saw gambels chicks April 16th. That's very Early Hope the lack of Rain down here doesn't effect the little buggers. There seems to be a good amount of Grasshoppers around so maybe there is hope.
Yes it's along ways away. However last year we had no rain and chicks deid after 1st and 2nd hatches. This year we have had a little more rain and alot more insects. We still need more rain. I see there is a slight chance later this week. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
