Here are a couple of pictures of the puppies we visited on Saturday:

There was also a little girl in the litter but we are looking only at the males. The above pictures are of the males.

They are cute little guys but I have some reservations on the sire of the litter. I think we are going to pass on them and keep looking. A pup is a big commitment and we don't want to make a choice that doesn't work out.

Brian,

Is it no longer possible to get pups from the same breeder as Nittany and Blitz??

They don't have any plans to breed for a while but they are helping me in my search. I wish they were but they have 3 kids and a lot going on. I'll keep looking around.

That's awesome. I just found out last Friday the GWP puppies were just born from the litter I'm buying from.

I just found another litter that I really like. They were just born last week so it will be a little while if we do get one.

We decided to get a puppy from a litter in Texas. The dogs got their start on the east coast and I am familiar with the lines. They are what I was looking for. I was concerned about getting a puppy to PA from TX but it turns out the breeder works for an airline and can fly with the puppy in the plane cabin for free. The breeder will deliver the pup from TX to PA for no extra charge. We lucked out on this one. We wanted a male and there were two in the litter and both were spoken for. But one person wanted a pup before Christmas and pulled out. Now we get the male with the best hunting potential. They are only a week old now and will be evaluated in about 6 weeks.

The breeder and litter info

The stud dog is one point away from having a field trial title. I'm looking forward to this pup!

WTG! What was the biggest selling point for you? How do you think Nittany and Blitz will handle it?

I think Blitz and Nittany will be fine. Blitz still loves to play and sometimes Nittany doesn't want to be bothered so the new pup may help both out. The new pup will be named Champ.

I was looking for a dog that had good conformation and field work. I think there are a good number of dual vizslas out there but I just needed to find the right one. I wanted the parents to have good or excellent hips from OFA and this litter had just that. The dam is a show champion and has her MH title and the sire is one point away from a field trial title. The litter was bred for hunting and that is what I was looking for. Both dogs have a good pedigree with show and hunting titles and that is what I was looking for.

We are excited.

Sometimes you never know how small the world is. We've been looking for a while and I was interested in a vizsla pup from two different breeders in VA but things didn't work out for either one. It turns out the this litter in TX has bloodlines containing both VA breeders we were looking at.

I guess you can call momma a buffet whey you're a pup.

Here is the pedigree of the female:

He needs one more point to have his field trial title.

This pup should be a good one. I'm thinking of getting involved in NAVHDA testing with him but I need to find more out about it. I was also asked if I was interested in field trials but I know even less about that. Who knows where Champ will lead me. His full name will be RedPointe's Nittany Lion Champion and go by Champ.
