Ptarmigan

Anyone else get out and chase ptarmigan? Buddy and I got our limits. Would post pics but cant make the file small enough
 
I have the same problem with posting pictures on here. I get out every now and then for ptarmigan, mostly chase grouse though. How were the covey sizes?
 
I have been wanting to get after ptarmigan here in CA but with a 2 day season and such a long hike in (no forest roads get close to the alpine areas) in the heat I've never made the trip.
 
Hunted them while stationed at Elmendorf in Alaska. I would hunt them in Feb and March, on snowshoes with my lab....good times (was there 91 - 94).

Picture solution

For all trying to re-size pics, get Gimp2.0. You can change to an Indexed picture, then change to 8-bit. You can also change the dimensions of the pic. Free software. I use it to re-size pics regularly.

I want to see pics of your birds, which is why I posted this tidbit.
 
The other east way to post pics is to use photobucket, add the "img" link to your post and the pic automatically appear.:cheers:
