Pretty excited

Thanks Jay--Been reading up on some regs. I heard about the gun safety permit thing so I verified it. Shooting your own limit and no party hunting surprised me. Also a plug in the gun?

byrdoglvr what do you mean by the gun safety permit thing??? & verifying it???

i have a taken gun safety & do have proof but ive never been asked for verifacation in any state ive hunted??? my hunter number is my drivers license number here in MN same in ur state???

whats the age you dont need gun safety again??? i have it someplace but didnt think twice as i never have been asked for my gun safety permit??? my father may not need to prove it???

is party hunting legal in SD??? i forgot i thought no its not legal??? i know ND says no that sucks for the big groups that like to push & block i guess im sure the large groups fuge that rule left & right in ND???

ok its the same as every wear else i hunted i think they say its required but they never ask when i buy the license??? it had to tell a lady in OK that my hunter number was my drivers license number & she looked at me funny then ran it & all worked so i assume thats why they always sell me my hunting license??? i also passed my hunter ed course at 12 they gave me a card i have it till but thats not my hunter ID number any longer its my drivers license so??? i always carry the old faded hunter ID card with just incase i get a person busting my chops...

thanks for the link brydoglvr...

Well we've decided to bail out of Mott and return a second time to our SD spot. Several reasons. Numbers even how awful they are still twice is good in SD if I'm reading it correctly. SD spot has a lot of WPA's with good cattail cover. Which makes me more comfortable late season with snow and all. There is well over a hundred public areas to choose from. One in our group does not have his firearm safety permit for the ND trip. We're leaving Wednesday after work so a 6 1/2 hour drive makes more sense then arriving at 3 am after a 9 hour drive. The house we rent is still available. It's a great deal at $30 a night per person with no up charge for dogs and they can stay in the house. I was excited to hunt at sun up and use lead but the pros out weigh the cons this year anyways.

im more excited about ND then ever solid bird numbers crops will be standing on opener & half as many hunters then SD gets pushes the scales towards ND for me... 3 times as many birds harvested as MN dose not hurt either...

the amount of hunters in SD just turns me off more non resident hunters then resident is crazy 2 me... i think SD being so close to many states brings tons of hunters every year as does SD being the pheasant king of the country... thats ok with me...

have fun byrdoglvr & have that guy get his firearm safety its no big deal kids do it every day??? he may feel he dosent need it but its good to have as im sure he realizes now i assume???

It's really more about the length of drive in the window of time we have and cost of the trip. We feel much more comfortable with the amount of public property available to us in our SD area too. Well got to go. Heading to Sand Pines to shoot some birds this morning!!
