Prairie Storm Issue

It isn't worth the cost. Kent Fast Lead patterns excellent and is a good long range load also. I tried a box of PS and blew up too many birds using it.
Kent has been excellent for the cost. ONly complaint is it is hard to find. If sportsmans warehouse does not have it I am sol.

I bought my 1st and last box of P.S. last year. I patterned them and was not impressed. My grandson shot them all in K.S. It looked like they performed fine, but I was shooting Estate 1/4 of 6's and didn't see any difference. The Estates are pretty dirty, but I am by no means to good to shoot them.

Scheels always has pretty good sales this time of year. Seems like one brand of year gives the best deal. One year it was Kent, next B&P, last year I got Pheasant Max Plus which is a Fiocci brand, saved about $3-4 a box. I don’t rely on pattern, I just shoot another shot to fill it in. I like the premium Federal rounds, wink shok, PS, but don’t see the value in $10-15 more a box. Gonna check those sites online for sure this year

Pheasant Max Plus #5 was my go to for the 12 gauge. Extra dollars didn't kill deader.

I remember when PS first came out about 20 years ago. One box was 10 bucks. It's pretty hard to find them under 25/box now. Same with Wing Shok.

And there was a few years where both were very difficult to find. Right after the pandemic started. Panic buyers snatched em all up.

The last year I bought Federal shells they had I think a $5 mail in rebate. Shells were $18 minus the rebate. My buddy got his down somehow to $11 a box. At the time Pheasant Max was $9.99. I was to good for those back then. Now there is no rebate and they’re above $25. I’ll admit the cheaper loads pull more feathers into the meat, lead breaks up, and they are dirty, but you get what you pay for.
