Prairie Dog State Park?

SetterNut - we were in the area just SE of Norton this weekend, and it was pretty dicey once everything started to melt. The gravel roads were fine, but the dirt roads that are scattered between some sections were not passable - pure mud. We didn't even try them.

You can usually work your way around the dirt roads. If you know the area you're going to be in, it might be a good idea to print off some satellite maps of the area. Easy to tell what is mud vs. gravel.

Good luck!

Thanks rugger, sounds like you are pretty close to where we have permission to hunt. Its in the hilly, dirt/mud road area south and east town. We are supposed to go in the morning, but we are going to see if we can got ahold of the owner and see what he has to say about the roads.

This ground was decent last year, hunted it on the last weekend of the season. It has been a tradition for a group of use with boys that played on the baseball team I coached. A couple of the boy are now playing baseball in college so we can't go at the end of January like nomal.

Do you think it would be worth the drive out there?
