All,

Which thrower do you guys prefer and why, I am going to use it at an old trap range that is not in service, not wanting to spend more than 300 to 500.

Thanks

Patrick

trap

I have what I think is a do-all white wing trap. had it a couple of years, if you buy one on the internet you can save a bunch, think they are in your price range, too lazy to go look. you can also get a electric wobbler for them so maybe you get the trap and your buddy get the wobbler. instead of carrying a battery around for it I use jumper cables hooked to the truck, the neat thing about these traps is you can put an extension cord on it, walk out I the field and shoot cross shots, holds about 30 birds

cheers

Thanks Musti, I took a look and I might got for the next smaller model, the wheely-bird, Id rather just join a local club but that isn't an option right now so I guess it'll just be me and all my friends, HA!

agreed.

I have same one. works great for the price. I was shocked how good it was for the price. I bought the caddie which works well, just wish it had bigger wheels. whole thing was around 400 bucks. I bought last year in the spring. there is a really good utube video showing it in action.

I started with the Do All White Wing with the wobbler, then later bought the cart, then the remote. Works great but you have to be willing to occasionally work on it to keep it in tune.

For instance, the rubber part that throws the clays wears out the the tip is bare metal, it will fracture every clay it throws.
To resolve this, I rebuild that part with a piece if scrap Ipe wood and now it will never wear out.
The bearing on the underside tends to loosen and fall off. I highly recommend when you first recieve it, remove and reattach with thread lock.

wheely bird

Well,

It went on sale at Cabelas and they are giving a 25 dollar mail in rebate and now my thrower is on the way, I cant believe I waited this long to do it.

Thanks for the tip using jumper cables. I've been toting a battery and no need to do that. I have the Whitewing and it works well, but as mentioned earlier, they take some tweaking. I installed a lighter spring and use decent clays. It pulverizes cheap ones. I mounted mine on a wagon, but they need a firm foundation to work really well. I use weight on the wagon to cut down on the vibration. Glad I bought it though. I tend to shoot a lot more now.

I pin mine to the ground, if it is unstable or otherwise loose, it breaks clays. I use 10" nails to hold it in place. now no problems with it.
