Bear is not just and outstanding hunt-test dog, his primary purpose in life is to hunt upland birds and waterfowl. Bear is a fantastic hunting dog that consistently puts pheasant in the game bag and ducks and geese in the blind. He has been on over 50 big upland trips in the last three years in ND, SD, KS and CO and many waterfowl trips in CO.

Bear's Greatest Attributes:
- Super intelligent and trainable (amateur trained!)
- Mellow at home / Intense hunting and training desire afield
- Strong and athletic
- Giant Heart / No Quit (will hunt til you put him in the truck)
- Fantastic nose (often finds birds when other dogs don't)
- Very Gentle (not a mean hair on his body)
- Excellent confirmation (and good looking too!)
- Genetically Perfect (Clear on: EIC, CNM, PRA, RD/OSD, Excellent hips, Normal elbows, Normal heart)
- His "Desire to Please" is off the charts!

Bear is an UKC/HRC Hunting Retriever CHAMPION, APLA 4X-Grand Master Pointing Retriever and AKC Senior Hunter

Only title left for Bear is the AKC Master Hunter, which is what we will be focusing on from now on.

Bear's 6 gen extended pedigree (4 gen shown below) has 5 occurrences of the recently announced APLA Hall of Fame dogs on it!

Bear is available for stud and he does also have two litters with master pointer females that were just whelped the first week of April and will be ready the first week of June.

We got 16 geese that day, but 4 sailed over a ridge in the field (guess we need to shoot better) and I could not see where they went down from the pit, so I had to send Bear out in the general direction of the bird and let him use his nose. He found and brought back all 4! One bird had to be between 400 and 500 yards out in the field and when he found it, it was a big greater canada and it took off flying too (like the one in the video) and Bear chased it down and jumped up an pulled it out of the sky 5 feet above him! It was awesome and I thought it was going to be great to have on video, but, when I turned around to high-five the video guy, he wasn't there, as he had gone to retrieve another goose by hand! Arrghh!

In hunt trials, we always know where the bird is on a blind retrieve, so the handling can be much more precise, however, in real hunting, sometimes you don't know where the bird is and you have to rely on your dog's nose. On this day, Bear's nose brought us back 4 birds that we probably would have never found. Its really hard to see a black bird on black dirt from 400 yards away!
