Planning a trip this year

One thing good is that the SD pheasant concentration has shifted from west of the Missouri R. to east of it, closer to Ohio. I'm hunting the SD opener, probably alone, and I have picked my location based on the availability of land open to the public. SD has several different programs, confusingly so, for public hunting. But you can sort it all out with the new SD hunting atlas.

In any event, best of luck to you and your friends.

There's public land on the east bank of the Mo. It may be crowded for a few days after the opener, but it's good hunting.
