Pierre Grasslands

Are the grasslands any good for pheasant/grouse in December? We hope to be out in SD during December and would like to spend a day hunting there just to see the area. Any tips of thoughts would be appreciated.

pheasantphan, I have hunted the area in October a few years back and did quite well, alimit of both grouse and Pheasants I hunter off of 1806and went to the furthest west part of the grasslands then went south a mile or two if I remember right. I may be going to Pierre or just north of it around the 15 of Nov. I may fall down to the grasslands one day and if I do I will post my results when I get back.
