pictures

My 2 cents

One picture looks like Deer on a corn pile and the other one looks like a dogs rear end. I don't have much expierience with Lions and I am in Afghanistan so I could losing my mind but that is what saw in the picture.

Good guess on the deer
Not so sure about the dog though

Where abouts in SE was this?

I'm guessing its a sasquatch in the rare "brown" phase which would indicate a juvenile. Juveniles are also sometimes known to have long tails, which do resemble mountain lion tails. They are known to play with deer and love corn but only as juveniles. After about 5 yrs of age they lose the tail and no longer have a taste for corn.

According to the BFR association.

Looks like a mountain lion going after some back straps to me! :10sign:

First pic is of three deer. The nose of the background deer in in the corn. Six minutes later a big dog chased 'em off, IMO. I would expect a cougar's tail to be a bit more fluffy, and bigger around. Just sayin'! Any tracks there visible?

I am curious, keep the camera rolling and I hope you get another pic of the animal.

I have a number of cams out and I keep thinking one day I will capture the image of a big cat.

Cat's seem to be expanding everywhere. We've had one run in front of my wife's car just down the road from our house a few years back.

My buddies neighbor has another one on his tail cam 45 min from here. Messed someones horse up pretty good.

By the looks of the pic, it seems it could be a young cat. Though with the tapered tail, it's looks like it could be a dog too:confused: As you know, there's no way we can tell with 100% certainty what it is unfortunately.

You need another pic. After you nail a deer, can you put the remains in front of the camera by chance? Hanging them from a tree limb will keep the coyotes off the lure.

Pretty sure you have the back end of a cat. Although 1pheas4 is right we cant be certain of what it is without a picture of the whole animal. Although I lived in Steamboat springs for 6 years and after seeing a mtn lion i am still sure thats what you got a pic of.

Why I think it might be a dog

Last year I had a shot just like it on my camera and thought it might be a big Cat. This was in Smith county Kansas so not unheard of having Lions in this area. I went a few more pictures into the card and had a dog with a wild looping tan tail with a black spot on the end. It was a stray farm dog that I see every so often near the farm house. I hope you can get some more pictures to confirm or deny what you have on the camera.
