pointer thats awesome! I love hunting all those counties as well and smith center is a great town! My dad and I have been hunting northeast kansas a lot and have done really well up there the past couple seasons as well! saw a ton of quail up that way lastyear and not as many hunters either but the public land isn't as good as out west!

We'll have to hook up next season i see your from olathe I live at K-7 and Shawnee mission parkway! I have two sisters that just moved to olathe as well!

public hunting

i have hunted the axtell area a little on public i didnt do any good though,ya that smith center area is great for quail it is private but there is tons of public there also.The family that i hunt on there is the nicest people i have ever met i have become really close to there son.

Ok, OAP....I'm getting anxious for the season now. Those are some nice looking dogs and some great looking cover. We need to shoot some of those birds together this year!

Okay so some how I missed this post awhile back, I have to throw some of my own in the mix. Pointer some good pics and glad to see that your dog was doing well for the season he looks amazing. Pay close attention because you may see another EP in one of my pics. Lol. Pointer the pup is one you haven't seen yet she is from Molly though, she was only 9 wks old in the first picture of her. Anyways here they are boys. :coolpics:

Everyone is moving the the KC area. I may just have to leave the ranch for some city life if it is so good.

Oh Pointer you know that GSP's are humble and hunt with class no need to steal points. Lol. The EP in the picture is a great dog and I would not feel bad at all if he tried to either take a point from my dog or just plum beat her to the point. He is an honest good working dog. We will have to get together and run the dogs again when I get back from over here.

City life good? You can't be serious. I've always thought people lived in the city b/c of "necessity" (their wives make them). I understand that you'd like to get closer to the grandkids, but I wouldn't even consider leaving the ranch for thugs, pollution, and noise. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad so many people like it there b/c if they didn't they'd all move further out......then the country just wouldn't be the country anymore.

As Chris LeDoux once said (not verbatim), "Stay in your cities, where you don't have to worry about rattlesnakes biting you on the leg and you have your air conditioned offices....you got yourselves a city park too. Hell that's country"

aaaah the city

kb i love the outdoors as much or prob more than most but i want to be able to put on my armani suit as well i i want to live in city and hunt and fish in the country! but thats another thread for some one to start lol.

Different strokes for different folks my friend;). Stay there if you enjoy it. Don't get shot in a parking lot this summer and I'll try not to get bit by any rattlesnakes:thumbsup:. Perhaps we'll be able to cross paths when you visit the country this winter:cheers:
