I realize that this is a "colorado" regional forum, however I do live in Colorado Springs and I wanted to share some pics from our annual pheasant hunt out near Dodge City, KS. I have been hunting out there since 1996. I hunt with locals and mostly all private land. It is always an awesome time. With good friends, family and dogs.

The only year I didn't go was when I was stationed at Camp Humphreys in South Korea from July 2001 to August 2002. By the way they have pheasants there, saw them, heard them but you can't hunt them:mad::(

Take care, god bless, and happy hunting,

Greg

nice pics and great looking dog box. :coolpics:

were these from this year? we frequent jetmore which is north of dodge but elected not to due to drought conditions.

southern blues, you made a good decision; it is awful rough up that way this year, it'll probably take a few "normal" years for the birds to recover

retrvrman, congrats, looks like you were quite fortunate this year to find some birds

A-ja shee retrvrman – Nice pics…looks like fun!

I heard about it while I was there but didn’t get the chance to go since I was north of the no-smile line, but they did offer some hunts on Cheju do Island. From what I heard, it was a pretty controlled hunt and they rented the guns to you. I used to see them on the runway when I flew in to Humphreys from time to time.

Did you ever have the misfortune of hearing the Cuckoo birds while over there?

Yes as a matter of fact I did....those pheasants over there were as big as turkeys:eek:

Thanks,

Greg

Yes we were...however it didn't hurt that we hunted mostly all private land. It is rough, however I think things will bounce back.
