I am leaving Thursday to hunt for a few days. Thinking about hunting on my way to pierre area between murdo and kadoka before sundown. Public areas and ditches are what I'm looking at. I am curious if there are many pheasant in this area of the state or if I'm better saving my dogs for the next day. Any insight would be greatly appreciated on pheasant numbers in that part of state. I figure that's the part of the state I can make it to and have an hour of daylight left.

we used to see hundreds of birds each spring in that area on way west to turkey hunt past few years we are happy to see 20-30 birds in same areas...

ive seen the public land in that area on tv b4 im sure u r better off in a ditch then on beat up public land... ???

Not much public in that area. I hunt that area a couple times a year. If you pm me I may have a nugget or two for you
