Hi all,
I am new to PA and love to pheasant hunt. I know there are plenty of fields(and hunters) who hunt throughout this park. I tried the spot up in loch lomand and Wilson hill road. Great field walked entire thing last year but the only thing my lab sniffed out was a dead pheasant. Are their any fields along RT.209 that you are not allowed to pheasant hunt on? or are they all pretty much fair game? Any info anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. I live in Bushkill and looking for something really close by.

Are you talking about the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area " DWGNRA" ?

I hunt DWG extensively PM me where you are considering hunting and I will provide some input. something to keep in mind, the national park wardens will ticket you if you walk in standing crop (corn, soy, etc) or let your dog freely chase birds in corn.

That's very sportsmanlike of you!

i bag plenty of PA birds and would rather see someone enjoy there time hunting then complain thrre are no birds. i have many times allowed a solo senior hunter who has not shot a pheasant in 5 seasons shoot a bird my dog points if it will leave him a good memory of the season. that hunter might in turn give me the location of one of his duck or grouse spots. however if i get burned and find dead birds laying around a spot, the end of my assistance. i had that happen once in another gameland. my dog was finding dead birds for days because the hunters never spent time looking for down birds. what a waste.
