Pheasant habitat in China?

Forget Dove hunting in Argentina!!

Who's up for a pheasant hunting trip to China?!?

UGuide, do you think you could set us up with some nice "private" land over there?

Foreigners with guns in China?

One of my customers/friends from Hong Kong was visiting me a couple of years ago and I took him skeet shooting at my local gun club.

At first he wasn’t sure that he wanted to shoot but after a couple of shots he was having a great time.

He said, “we need to figure out how to do this in China! We would be rich if we could open up a gun club!”

I lived in China outside of Beijing in 2007-2008. I've travelled around China a bit and have not seen any pheasants. I'm guessing there are regions where there is pheasant population.

I agree with the earlier post that the lack of seeing true wildlife in any area with human population is very noticable. Few small wild animals of any type to speak of.

Gun ownership is illegal. I have yet to meet a Chinese person who has seen, held, or fired a firearm in China (outside of the military). We did a paintball team building day with staff there and it was amazingly popular due to there curiousity of guns.

My son's college roommate in Montana was a Chinese national. My son got him into hunting and I wrote a bit about it for American Hunter Magazine. "Luke" told me no one in China hunts except in rural areas where they poach, since there are no seasons or licenses for locals. Here's the link to the story:
