Patchy WSG

I have a 1st year stand of WSG mainly Big Blue and Switch. Now that I was patient enough to let it grow I noticed it has some patchy spots were a have little to no stand in those areas. Has anyone tried over seeding in those areas. They are currently covered in fox tail. Should I try to burn it sown with Round-Up first? Till it? Any thoughts?

Are the spots a significant % of the total acreage? If not, I wouldn't worry about it if it is for habitat. Foxtail is eaten by quail and pheasants alike. If it is large patches, there was probably a problem with the seedbed on the first planting. I would spray it with roundup, pack it first, then replant with a drill or brillion seeder. You can probably rent a brillion seeder that will fit behind an ATV at the nursery. I it's not CRP, you might get someone to flash graze it and the hoof compaction may bring on the seed that is already there. Another option would be to just do the compaction mechanically and see if that brings on the seed.
