ouch

Trying to get everything caught up and some honey doos done for the little lady before I leave in pursuit of the willy ditch chicken and wouldn't you know it I pulled my back.
I was getting some 2 x 12 x 10s out of the truck for a trailer project I want to finish before I leave and wouldn't you know I moved wrong. Well got those unloaded but have to put the project of until tomorrow. Not being to smart and a little stubborn I decided I would go and get some more gear together in the shop for the expedition to that far away state, South Dakota, well lets just say I should not have.
A little ice, a few minutes in the easy chair, a cold one and a little of the Outdoor channel and I will be fine. Oh, I just feed the pups now they want out, can't they see I am in pain, well I have all three of them sitting looking at me like dude you gonna let us out or you want us to do our business in your hunting boots you have sitting behind your old man chair. Well guess all that will have to wait a minute because I am not sure they can.
I am gonna make a sign for my trailer Got dog will hunt like the ole paladin show have gun will travel, and one South Dakota Bound..and one on the back If your a member of Ultimate Pheasant. com honk

not sure what route you take but if you drive down I -70 be sure to stop in grainfield at better built trailers and look me up i am the grouchy big guy in the shop

Cove County Britt,
I usually go up to the North East corner of Colorado and into Nebraska take I 80 to North Platte and take hwy 83 north to South Dakota.

I hurt my back putting a cooler into my car prior to the trip several years ago. My first day in SD, I bent over to pick up a sock off the floor and my back went totally out. I found a chiro, but he was a real quack. I dropped a hundred dollar bill on the ground and couldn't pick it up. It was a miserable trip and it took months for my back to get better.

Coming down with cold

Ugh! kids had fevers earlier this week...now i'm not feeling so hot today sitting here at work blowing my nose constantly and sounding like I was screaming at an AC/DC concert the night before.

But still, nothing is stopping me from getting in some hunting tomorrow. So I'm not sure I'd rather have the sore back or a cold.

Cloud, sorry to hear that about the boys. Football is rough on a body. I feel it frequently after 10 years of fully padded tackle football.

Copheasanthunter, that's too bad about your back. Maybe try one of those massage things that sit on the drivers seat and plug in the the cigarette lighter. ;)

Rehab  !!!

I'm trying desperately to get my shoulder up to speed for this season after blowing out my pectoral tendon...

Everybody that asks "how'd you do it??" - I tell 'em, "At the gym, trying to stay in shape - guess I won't do that anymore!!!.

Doc asked what I was doing when it popped, I says bench press. He says why you doing bench press? I says, cuz I always have. He says, well, not anymore - you're officially too old for bench press, you've worn your tendons out.

I'm not even 40 yet :(

1 year anniversary

One year ago today I ruptured the L5-S1 disk in my back. I couldn't hardly walk and had to cancel my annual SD trip. A year later of rehab and I'm looking forward to getting back out this year. After going through this past year, and not being totally out of the woods yet, I can sympathize with those of you with ailments that will keep you from the woods and field.

My gym workouts had me in good shape going into this summer and I enjoyed my best year of golf. Last week I went grouse hunting with a buddy, taking a half day off work. A very warm Indian Summer day and we sweated our fannies off. We shot 5 grouse and 4 woodcock. Not bad shooting for a guy who hasn't picked up his gun in a year. Despite all the core training and cardio, plus a summer of long walks I was gassed and sore from the afternoon. There's no training that can duplicate busting the brush, lifting to go over dead falls, up and over humps, etc. After missing last year, that soreness was a welcome feeling and the beer afterwards sure tasted good!

Hunt safe everyone and shoot straight.
