Orvis Upland Briar Pants

At that price they should be self-propelled! :D I'm sure they are good being Orvis which strives for high quality.

I would actually try a pair of I didn't know I would surely rip them on the first barbed wire fence I had to cross.

Brit Chaser - self propelled: funny! But you're right - everything I've always purchased from Orvis (and it hasn't been that much) has always had excellent workmanship.

DESullivan - thanks for that info! Those look to be exactly what Orvis offers - at a $74 discount no less. Orvis also offers the Lolo Upland Briar pant at $269 (don't know how it really differs from the one posted about in this thread), but it appears the same thing is also sold at Gastonlockstyle for quite a bit less. Compare:

Quail Hound - my understanding is that Orvis has a great reputation for returns and refunds and standing behind their product, especially when advertised as being briarproof (and the reviews seem solid too). But of course that's kind of a pricey risk!

Thanks for everyone's thoughts!
