Opening Weekend... How do you spend it?

usually people just started going off in whatever directions they felt like and the whole plan of attack fell apart into chaos. Sometimes we still did alright and sometimes the birds would fly off without any shots fired.

(LOL) 1GB I feel your pain with keeping guys in line and on course. The guys that have been at it awhile know what to do, but the new guys can't keep a line for the life of them.
I even delt with this at work last year. I had a job working on upland and wetland habitat restoration. We had some really smart kids in college working with us over the summer. When it came to forming and following a line (to herbicide) they just couldn't comprehend the system. I guess I just take it for granted how easy it is, but then again I've been walking drives since I was a kid.:D

This year I'm going to invite myself to whoever has the best bird hunting. Maybe I'll go to md's, who cares if he's working in the field while I'm at his hot spot. Maybe niceshot has a few good places on this side of the border, then I wouldn't have to travel so far. I've been looking at U-guides website and it looks like he has plenty of birds. I think I have plenty of options with all the members on here.

Just so you know PA, we don't take American Express :D

Seriously though I think most UPH's would be a gas to hunt with. I just put all my energy into habitat and don't have much time or energy in putting together groups anymore. Leave that to someone else.

Well right now all I can give you is an IOU, with all my business repair bills. I know nice shot probably wouldn't go with me because it would be like when we played ball together. He would get tired of saying niceshot to me.

I usually like to start opening weekend off duck hunting early in the morning. Gives me a chance to bag some ducks as well as see where some of the pheasants are moving to during the day, unless it's like MD said, and too much crop is still in, then I usually just wait a week duck hunting and go to some private spots that I might not fill my limit but definitely see plenty of birds.

Nowa days most likely at a trial. Or just training. Corn and other crops are in most years. So it can be very slow. I do some years just walk a few real small spots near home. But now thats only if I am around. Most of the serious hunting I do is later when many people are done.

We will be sitting at a pond in Wis. hunting, teal and wood ducks this season. most of the phesant hunting I like to do when there is a a little chill in the air.
