Ended up trick or treating until later than planned, then a hard time getting ready for bed, book read, etc so at 8pm I wasn't up for a long drive to NW Missouri as planned. Hunted closer to home Wed morning.

Putting a positive spin on things, I did get a day off work to walk the fields with my dog. Not so much in the way of seeing Quail or even really hearing many shots. Good sunrise and exercise, plus quality time with my old girl. Could be a lot worse....

How did everyone else do? Bonus points for pictures!!

Got on the board today and the covies were bigger than I would have thought, our local hatch looks good.
I can't figure pics out either.:p

I’ve been out 3 times and have been into mutiple quail covies every day. I hunt with labs, not exactly quail specialists, but decent bird dogs and I’ve been pleasantly surprised with this season’s numbers so far.

2 of those hunts we put up pheasants, about 15 one day and 2 the other.

I would like to not talk about how many birds I’ve bagged, but I’ve had lots of shooting opportunities.

So far in Missouri this year I have killed more woodcock than quail. Haven't been to any of my honey holes yet but gone on a couple of short hunts. The out of town preseason hunts kind of drained me a little. Will be seeing alot more of the field starting next week.
