NSTRA Field Trial in Minnesota

The Mid-North Region of NSTRA is having a field trial on May 14th & 15th at the Major Avenue Hunt Club near Glencoe. For any of you that are possibly considering running your dog some day in a NSTRA trial it would be an excellent opportunity to watch and visit with some NSTRA members. I am planning to participate in the trial.

Just a reminder, NSTRA trials are for Pointing Breeds only.

If anyone wants any additional information on this trial please let me know and I will get it for your.

I will be there:thumbsup:
Maybe I can have the kids bring there Pom-Poms and cheer for Elle:D

I wouldn't go quite that far. I'm just hoping she shows some marked improvement from her first trials last spring. Of course a year ago she was only a little over a year old. Huge improvement in the field this past fall so I hope that carries over.

I just hope we get a good turnout for the trial. It will provide a great opportunity for some of you Minnesota boys with pointing dogs to observe a NSTRA trial. And then hopefully get involved.

Toby was trained by Brian and the gang at Major Avenue and they have a beautiful property and I encourage everyone to attend the trials to see some of Brian's dogs work... he does an excellent job.

Brain has not been involved in NSTRA in the past. However, he did sign our sheet at Game Fair indicating an interest and now that we have put together a trial at the Major Avenue Hunt Club I'm sure he will join and try running a dog or two. I sure hope so. We are really trying to generate more interest in NSTRA in Minnesota so we can have some more trials there.

I feel many people shy away from trials like NSTRA because they think they are too competitive. They are what you make them to be. I think they are a fun event. A place to spend some time in the field with your dog and meet some new people with the same interests. Our trials are more like actual hunting than any other trial. Come out and get involved.

I shy away from NSTRA more because I can't see penalizing the dog for my poor shooting!

Not NSTRA's fault! :)

That and there never are any trials anywhere close....Hunt tests and NAVHDA are much more widespread here, if there ever is a NSTRA trial it's always way down in southern MN somewhere I think.....

This is a problem for the Mid-North Region (Minnesota, North & South Dakota). If you want to play the NSTRA game in this area travel is involved. I've signed up for 5 trials this spring and figure I will put on 2,500-3,000 miles traveling to and from the trials. As stated in my first post on this thread, this trial is in Glencoe. We want to generate mroe interest in Minnesota and hopefully be able hold more trials around the state.
