When you never move faster than a dog trot, work 20 yards out, point every rabbit, and follow you through the really nasty unmanaged 20 year old CRP. A dog can last a long time!!!! O.K. I'm just kidding, I have Britts too, I would like to last as long as my dogs, but those days are gone, along with my youth, quail in most of the previous range, and honest politicians. Now I hunt leisurely and take a nice siesta, make another run at them before dark. I've noticed all my life even when young, full of vinegar in great shape, The first day was fine, second day was a little harder, third day was murder, expectation was the forth day would be hell on earth, forth day was never as bad a expected, after that both human and dogs seem to hit a stride and from then on it's sort of routine, fatigue seems to be a thing of the past, senses get sharper, dogs get better, hunters get leaner and shoot better.

I will be in the Lebanon area. Will be doing some WIHA and some private land. Anyone else going to be there? anyone else have a room for rent for the weekend? lol my friend and I will be in a tent freezing our buttocks off friday night and saturday night :eek:

Get a sleeping bag big enough to fit both you and your dog. Best electric blanket there is.:thumbsup:
 
Anybody going to be east of there a bit? I'm headed to Joplin MO for Thanksgiving between Wed-Sat / Sun and wouldn't mind getting together with people....I think about 4.5 hours is all I'll be able to head west and stay married though...lol (visiting wife's family)

well I got desperate and booked a motel in mankato ks, about 30 miles away from where I will be hunting. I cannot believe there were still rooms available! It was pretty cheap at $47 a night and they did not mind dogs. See you guys out there!!!

Only the 3rd time in 32 years that I won't be in Norton for the opener. You all have fun, be safe and leave a few out there for me.:cheers:
