North or South

Why don't they do more bird hunting in the south? And in the north is waterfowl under rated as far as how well it is?

California is close to a 1,000mi long north to south and I would venture to say that just as much or more upland hunting goes on in the south than in the north. Waterfowling is big everywhere in the state though the mecca of Ca waterfowl hunting is probably in and around the Ca delta and rice country of the north valley. North or south there are birds to be had.

Waterfowling is terrible here in the Great White North!!! Blizzards every week, 30 below most mornings, not a duck or goose to be had, I would not bother if I were you! That said, earlier this fall, I thought there were clouds in the sky, it turned out to be geese...LOL.

To bad CA is so far away, We could all meet up there and have the hunt of our lives.

I can report that the WI duck/goose season was extraordinary. Best in years.

Quail number where I hunt in Cen/So Indiana are as good as I have seen them in 20 years. My buddy and I are the only quail hunters either of us have ever seen in the fields.

Pheasant numbers in IN/IL should be better. I've seen 60 birds on a good day but that pales to the 300 I have seen in a day other years.
