I left kansas and several inches of ice and snow on Saturday and hit the area of SD I was going this trip and hunted in 40 degree weather with no snow lol. Then left early on Sunday in fear of the shot blowing back in my face if I shot in the wind. Kinda kidding but the wind was the real deal and chased me back home early. I probably could have managed it but the only times I've ever came close to losing a dog was in high winds and I just didn't feel like fighting the fight that day.No casual bird hunters out this time of year
I saw these 3 hardcores from Minnesota wearing sweatshirts at 5 degrees!! I was wearing a parka. No casual bird hunters out this time of year!
No,only the hardcore. No casual bird hunters out this time of year!
I’m calling BS on this.Ok, but a real triple is very rare.mist people never do it. I have
Ha. We lucked out. Most days this trip were reasonable temps. Sunday wasn't one of those days, so I was glad to get them and get out of the weather. The cattails present an extra challenge for marking and recovery when multiple birds are downed. Glad I have a camera to go back to and help with marking.Be proud of that triple. You deserve it just being out there in January!
I had to take off my sweatshirt and strip down to my t-shirt Friday. It was about 25 degrees and only about 8 mph wind. I was busting some cattails and some snow drifts at times, and starting to sweat, which I try to avoid.I saw these 3 hardcores from Minnesota wearing sweatshirts at 5 degrees!! I was wearing a parka.
