Nobody posts on this thread because pheasant hunting sucks especially on the eastern side of the state.
I’ve hunted in Nebraska since 1971 and this year has been the absolute worst.

God this one hits home. I moved from northeast Nebraska to south east Sodak. World of difference. Nebraska game in parks needs a stern talking too

If you ever get down by Yankton keep your eye out for quail coveys. An under the radar hotspot for them.

I always wondered why Nebraska wasn't a popular state. I've never hunted there because I've never heard that I needed too.

So what gives? Seems like Nebraska should have everything available to make birds like their northern and southern sisters. Or is it just the best-kept secret going?

Here's some 2024/2025 info about the cornhusker state, conditions, and bird estimates. Doesn't seem like a completely dire situation from this, but what's printed on paper and what actually is happening in the field can vary wildy sometimes. According to this, pheasants are up in every zone except the northeast and quail are up in every zone they are present in.
